About Open Graph / Social Card Preview
The Open Graph / Social Card Preview shows how a link might look when shared on social networks and messaging apps, based on its Open Graph title, description, image and site name. It lets you catch a missing image or awkward text before you publish.
How to use it
- Enter the og:title for the page.
- Enter the og:description.
- Enter the full URL of the og:image.
- Enter the site name and review the card preview.
Good to know
- A common image size for link cards is 1200 by 630 pixels, which displays well on most platforms.
- The image URL must be absolute and publicly reachable, including https://, for social platforms to fetch it.
- Each platform styles cards a little differently, so the preview is an approximation of the general layout.
Common questions
Why does my old image still show after I changed it?
Social platforms cache link previews. Most offer a sharing or debugging tool that refreshes the cache for a specific URL.
What happens if I leave out og:image?
Many platforms show a text-only card or pick an image from the page themselves, which may not be the one you want.
