About Meeting Cost Calculator
The Meeting Cost Calculator estimates what a meeting really costs by multiplying the number of attendees by their average hourly rate and the length of the meeting. Seeing the figure helps teams decide which meetings are worth it.
How to use it
- Enter the number of attendees.
- Enter the average hourly rate or salary cost per person.
- Enter the meeting length in minutes.
- Read the estimated cost.
Good to know
- The formula is attendees × hourly rate × (minutes ÷ 60).
- Salaries understate the true cost of an employee's time. Many organizations add 25 to 40 percent for benefits and overhead.
- The estimate does not include preparation time or the time it takes to refocus afterward.
