The Date Difference Calculator measures the time between two dates in years, months and days, and as a total number of days. Use it for counting down to a deadline, working out the length of a contract or project, or checking how long ago something happened.
How to use it

Good to know
- Calendar months have different lengths, so a difference of one month can be 28, 29, 30 or 31 days depending on the dates.
- The total number of days is the most precise figure and is usually what contracts and billing periods rely on.
- The calculation works on calendar dates only. Times of day and time zones are not involved.
Common questions
Is the end date included in the count?
The result is the number of days from the start date to the end date, so the start day is not counted as a full day. Add one if you need to count both days inclusively.
How do I count business days?
This tool counts calendar days, including weekends and public holidays. Business-day counts depend on your local holidays and need to be worked out separately.
