About Date Add/Subtract Calculator
The Date Add/Subtract Calculator finds the date that falls a set number of days, weeks, months or years before or after a starting date. It answers questions like "what date is 90 days from today" or "when does a six-month notice period end".
How to use it
- Enter the starting date.
- Enter an amount. Use a negative number, such as -5, to go backward.
- Choose a unit: Days, Weeks, Months or Years.
- Read the resulting date.
Good to know
- When adding months or years lands on a day that does not exist, the date moves to the last day of that month. For example, 31 January plus one month gives the last day of February.
- Adding weeks is the same as adding seven days for each week.
- Deadlines defined in business days need weekends and holidays excluded, which this calendar-based tool does not do.
Common questions
How do I find a date in the past?
Enter a negative amount, for example -30 with the unit set to Days.
Why is 30 days not the same as one month?
Months vary from 28 to 31 days. Adding one month keeps the same day of the month where possible, while adding 30 days always moves exactly 30 days.
