About Crop Image
Crop Image cuts out a rectangular section of an image by exact pixel coordinates. It is precise enough for trimming screenshots, removing borders, or extracting one element from a larger graphic.
How to use it
- Add an image using the file picker or by dragging it in.
- Enter X and Y for the top-left corner of the area you want to keep, measured in pixels from the top-left of the image.
- Enter the width and height of the area.
- Click Generate and download the cropped image.
Good to know
- X counts pixels from the left edge and Y counts pixels from the top edge, both starting at 0.
- The crop region must fit inside the image. If it extends past an edge, reduce the width, height or starting position.
- To crop to a social media shape such as a square or a 9:16 story, the Social Media Image Cropper in the Social Media Tools kit is quicker.
- PNG, JPEG and WebP images keep their original format. Other formats are saved as PNG.
Common questions
How do I find the right coordinates?
Most image editors and screenshot tools show the cursor position in pixels. Note the top-left corner of the area you want and its size, then enter those values.
Does cropping reduce quality?
The pixels you keep are unchanged. The image simply becomes smaller because the rest is removed.
