About Convert Image Format

Convert Image Format saves an image as PNG, JPEG or WebP. Use it when a website or app only accepts a particular format, when you want smaller files for the web, or when you need a lossless copy for further editing.

How to use it

  1. Add an image using the file picker or by dragging it in.
  2. Choose the target format: PNG, JPEG or WebP.
  3. Click Generate.
  4. Download the converted file.

Good to know

  • PNG is lossless and supports transparency, which makes it ideal for screenshots, logos and graphics with sharp edges.
  • JPEG is best for photographs. It does not support transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white when converting to JPEG.
  • WebP supports both transparency and efficient compression, and usually gives the smallest files.
  • Your image is processed by your browser on your own device. It is never uploaded to a server.

Common questions

Which format should I choose for my website?

WebP is a strong default for the web because it is small and widely supported. Use PNG for graphics that need crisp edges and JPEG where older software must be supported.

Will converting to PNG improve a blurry JPEG?

No. Converting preserves the image as it is now; it cannot restore detail that was lost when the JPEG was first compressed.
